Did Baraag go under or is it just technical issues?
Baraag is probably one of the last and only true freedom of expression art platforms left while everyone else has chosen an anti-freedom of rights to expression approach. Sometimes the owner of the platform struggles to keep it from going offline, and there have been cases where web domains or hosting servers would refuse to even allow the site to remain active.
As a result Koi himself has fought endlessly for the fair rights of artists to have a safe place for any artist to host whatever art they wanted restriction free no matter how offensive, because he believed that every artist should have the right to freely express themselves censorship free. Very few sites like this exist and that's because everyone else prefers being dictators. Baraag is such a smaller community of artists compared to giants like X/Twitter with hundreds and thousands of artists globally hosting content on a platform suitable for mostly politics but feels out of place for promoting explicit content. In fact Twitter feels less like an art platform than Tumblr did.
At any rate, Baraag has been down for two days so far, this has happened a few times before in the past and when it did. The host was having a hard time with the server provider and many had wondered if Baraag's days were coming to an end. Should this be the case now or perhaps just another technical problem? Judging from what I read on X, it seems like more censorship and Baraag was dropped but all the content from the site itself remained untouched, so now Koi once again has to find someone that will respect the rights of his supporting block, which is getting increasingly harder for him to do.
Whatever happens with baraag later in the year is anyone's wild guess...As for me? Well I have no place else to go... My only option is to retire completely now once it becomes official that Baraag is dead if Koi's server provider drops him. Many users are ruling out that this is most likely the banks or payment processors the same turds that kept fucking with Pixiv and ruined that place. I said that once baraag ended that's it for me, I already lost Deviant Art, Pixiv, and it took six years to build up my fanbase on Pixiv.
