Persistent Evil 2 Is DesireSFMs Next achievement
Besides only two animations, this blog is pretty much spoiler-free, so I'll try not to make it very long! I've been predicting for a while now that DesireSFM's next project is going to elevate him further than any of his Witcher material ever did. But if I'm wrong on this, I'll admit that I was wrong. Persistent Evil, when it was first released about 4 years ago, garnered a lot of attention, especially since DesireSFM released it around the time Resident Evil 8 Village was coming out. Yes, that's how long it was when he originally made that video; it was 4 long years ago. So far it's got about 11.3 million views on Pornhub...Out of all of his work, Persistent Evil managed to get the most viewers. It's shocking to me because I always thought The Golden Grain would have done it or Corruption of the Lodge Sacrifice, which is by far the best of the whole Corruption Series.
Golden Grain ranked in as number 2 behind Sacrifice even though it was much longer. It's just that there'ssomething very sinister about Ciri getting takenn by four vicious futanaris. HowD would manage to top that, I don't know., I don't know. I'd say Persistent Evil 2 will most likely dethrone it in terms of intensity,, but we shall see. Ciri was fucked as if she was being taken by four demon-possessed women. So if D can top this with Persistent Evil 2, I will be greatly impressed. I don't doubt him and see it as a possibility.
My guess is Persistent Evil 2 will be bigger than the first one, and according to the feedback DesireSFM received, there are a lot of people anticipating the sequel even more so than anything Witcher-related. I think several years ago, before he decided to branch out, I used to encourage him often to try different game projects to see how well people would be willing to support them. m. At first he was a little hesitant about abandoning Witcher for anything else, so his main focus would have been Witcher-only content had he not chosen to break away from limiting himself to only one franchise. I noticed this with a lot of his still images he currently makes in Blender, that he does experiment with a lot of different games. It can also help him decide whether or not he'd like to animate some of them in the future if he continues creating and doesn't retire sometime soon.
But Resident Evil has a lot more potential than The Witcher, and it seems like whenever a new Resident Evil game is being released, that's when D finds the perfect time to work on another Resident Evil animation, and it's a good marketing strategy too. I believe around the time Resident Evil 8 was being released, he worked on two Resident Evil animations; the one involving Lady D didn't turn out as well as Persistent Evil, and it just felt like a rushed project. There was a lot more effort put into Persistent Evil, and that's why everyone is waiting for the sequel and there are all these high expectations for it.
I don't see D making it much longer than the first one, but he does decide to add more time length on it. That's even better; there is certainly a lot of story development potential with it, and if he does make it too short, then that potential will be lost, so I hope without a shadow of a doubt we get something extremely good and lengthy enough this year or maybe next year until his next major project.
From what I can tell, these story elements make the videos so much better than they would be if they didn't have them at all. I don't ask D too much about how much work or progress he's made so far. I stopped supporting him on Patreon a few days ago because I didn't want to get spoiled by any more of his latest WIP that he normally posts. And I get so damn tempted to check on a day-by-day basis the longer I remain a Patreon supporter. I usually try to wait until he finally completes his work, THEN I subscribe for a month or two so I don't do like some people who subscribe and then unsubscribe before the artist gets paid. I would never dine and dash on a fellow artist, especially one I strongly respect and have known for a very long time.
I did the same thing with Radroach. I mean, I want to support them both because I really enjoy their work and having conversations with them every once in a while when they aren't too busy, but I just really hate running into spoilers of any kind when it's something like this. I think people should be patient and not demand these WIPs; all it does is ruin the experience by showing you small parts of the video before it's even finished...
Then you end up with impatient people posting links to these videos on platforms like 34Rule, and that's why I generally don't even go to pornographic art sites anymore as long as an artist is currently still working on their content that I'm anticipating. That means going almost a full year or months without visiting any explicit platforms besides the one I host my own content on, like Baraag, because it's not that popular like Twitter/X; therefore, the chances of running into someone posting D's stuff or Rad's content are extremely slim to impossible. If there is a blacklist feature on a site, I usually will blacklist the artists if I don't want their content to appear before it's finished. I practically do that a lot now and hope someone doesn't fail to tag the artists because otherwise the content will still appear.
So by the time you finally get to watch the completed project, if it's been spoiled because of work in progress, it feels less interesting. It also hurts the story development leading up to the explicit encounter, which loses a massive amount of appeal. It eliminates the suspense, and if people were patient and not pestering the hell out of these artists. Well, they would have no need to showcase WIP versions of their work to begin with, or maybe just a few scenes, but not WIP of the whole damn video!
I already spoiled a few good scenes from Persistent Evil 2,, and some of those scenes,, which didn't include the sex parts,, I still really loved before the action began. It's those slow-pacing moments in the beginning before anything happens that createthis deep level of anticipation,, and that is why I just loathee these WIPss and try my damnest to avoid them now. I had to turn off Patreon notifications because they kept sending the spoilers right to my email. It's also why I didn't pick too many for this blog to avoid spoiling anything for anyone else who feels the same way I do.
With that said,, I look forward to this next animation D is planning because it does look a lot more interesting and exciting than the Witcher ones with darker elements. I didn't like the Shadow one because it just didn't have that same level of roughness and hate fuckery of his other Witcher work... I felt like he toned down the hardcore theme in his recent animation, so I pray he doesn't do this with Persistent Evil 2, which would ruin it. Persistent Evil 1 was such a success that a fan of his decided to make a comic about it.
That's why I believe Persistent Evil 2 is going to have an even greater impact than the first one did. Judging from some of the WIP clips I had already seen,, I certainly don't think I'll be disappointed at all with this one. There are only a few things I don't like, and that would be the use of the remake.. Claire Redfield...
I felt that Capcom just really uglied her up so bad in that shitty remake. She doesn't look anything at all like Claire Redfield from the original Resident Evil 2, Code Veronica, or even the 3D movies. The 3D movies were by far the best version of her look-wise; it's beyond me why Capcom didn't go with that model instead of this Western atrocity they pulled out of their ass.
It's like Capcom, the pathetic, took advice from the failing West and figured they could get away with making a popular Resident Evil character ugly, and they did get away with it because lots of people make artwork of the remake. Claire... Jill Valentine is fine the way she is, but I prefer the RE5 blonde version over the RE3 version, even though RE3 Jill works perfectly well for Persistent Evil 2, so I have no issue with her here. I'm going to assume that Persistent Evil 2 is still a long way off before we get to see anything in terms of completion. In the meantime, D might put out another shorter animation, though I suggest he doesn't because anytime he takes a detour on Persistent Evil 2, that's time spent on another project when it could have all gone into doing more work for something that a lot more people are currently anticipating.
My advice to him is that if he wants to do another shorter animation until Persistent Evil 2 is complete, he ought to do a prelude or something to Persistent Evil. That way he can just attach more story to something that's already semi-complete and do like he's been doing with the Witcher, you know, creating a bigger plot and creating what could be another new saga or series. I believe this will keep people even more invested in the long term.
But that's just my view on the matter; I don't think he should do any more Witcher stuff anytime soon, seeing how Corruption: The Golden Grain was like 30+ minutes long even though it was a year or two ago. It would be cool if we could get more animations that long from him, but he probably doesn't want to spend 4+ years finishing a massive assignment. D also did a POV version of Persistent Evil.... I really didn't like that one at all. I dislike the POV angle, and thankfully this won't be the main project, and we'll get a third-person perspective with all the women fully visible.
