Why don't Futanari artists take any risk?
I had a brief but short discussion over on DesireSFM's Discord yesterday with someone after they posted that Desire content is not non-consensual sex. That the characters just tend to be confused and conflicted before the sexual encounters begin, and then we see the characters giving in to their own sexual desires. Well, I had something to say about all of that, but then I changed my mind and removed my post when the person responding to me posted a smart-ass remark that really ticked me off.
One thing I don't like is people making weak-ass excuses as to why certain artists don't take risks. I really don't want to hear, "Oh, it's because they are afraid of getting cancelled or losing their financial income!" If that was even remotely true about every single one of them. Well then heterosexual male-on-female artists wouldn't take risks at all, and they are the only artists who do take the most risks, while futanari artists refuse to do so. That's because they allow fear of stepping out of their safe space to control them. If you pay any attention to the art community at all. Male and female artists will tackle all sorts of controversial themes and don't seem to be threatened by the likes of Patreon trying to control what they can or cannot create. So what's the futa's community problem? That's what I'd like to know.
If any of these artists had reason to believe that they would be kicked off Patreon for their ideas, they wouldn't produce the content, or they would just find an alternative like Subscribestar, which is just as popular as Patreon. Hell, some artists use both platforms. No, I don't think it's a matter of being afraid of Patreon throwing futanari artists from their platform that's behind why they choose to not do anything crazy with the futanari genre. It's more likely about personal feelings, and since this is the case, that would make the Futanari community the most overly sensitive, snowflakey community of artists.
I've come to the conclusion that Futanari artists do not believe in having an open mind that's built for extreme ideas when it involves challenging their comfort zones. They prefer to play it safe and this rule applies to 99% of the Futanari community. They don't explore sexual violent themes, they don't create or do anything that involves any kind of risk or controversy (Lolicon, Shota, etc) either out of fear they'll be condemned by their petty fanbase or some other reason. They just aren't like the male on female art community that steps up to the challenge.
For the longest of time I have yet to see any of them explore themes and genres that will improve and make Futanari content enjoyable. For a long time it's been the only genre of pornography I can think of that's remained the same stale and tiresome genre focused on oversized cocks since the early 2000s, and that hasn't changed, not even with the surge of AI. I've been paying a lot of attention, and it's always the male or female artists taking all the risk and doing different and new things all the time. They are willing to put themselves out in the open and don't worry so much about negative criticism. This is why rape themes in fictional works of art don't bother them, because they've dominated sexually violent themes long before I was even BORN!
So it's like where are all the brave, bold, and daring futanari artists who are willing to create challenging material? What are they afraid of? It's been like this for years now. As much as I like the content that a few futanari artists I keep in touch with create, they don't have the same outlook as I do about going in a darker direction. I believe Radroach somewhat teased it with a suicidal theme he was doing with Cyberpunk. I asked him about it, and he asked me if I wanted him to finish it. So I told him I had no interest in the Cyberpunk franchise but would like to see something involving the Ring and Sadako if he was able to do it. That's when he told me he'd look into seeing if a Sadako model exists, and if so, he'll work on something like this in the near future. I figured if anyone could do something horror-related involving dickgirls and succeed at it, it would be Radroach, even if it didn't include any violence.
Futanari could easily become one of the most fascinating genres out there if there were more artists that thought opposite from each other but the lack of thrill and adventure among the community is the one thing that's been holding Futanari artwork back. Every time I watch a scene from Bible Black I'm wondering why has it been over 15+ years since anyone has done anything close to as sexually violent as the bathroom assault scene involving possessed Imari. Radroach could easily recapture the intense level of sexual aggression from that scene even without it being non-con, something I'd love to see recreated in his art style.DesireSFM is equally as capable of it even with outdated software like SFM. But even though Desire did admit that he's not against sexually violent material and does have some interest in it. Part of the reason he won't do it himself is because he's afraid of Patreon throwing him off their platform. So he did at least admit that's why he is hesitant and I understand because I wouldn't want him to lose his source of income and then giving up on what he loves doing. But Patreon isn't 100% the reason for why every Futanari artists is refusing to take any risk or having ideas that challenge their own comfort zones. As I said, that can't be the reason for why they all object to these ideas because male on female artists would be equally as skeptical, cautious, and worried about losing their income too.
I still feel that allowing Patreon or any platform to control what content you make is showing that you 1. You only create art for income reasons. And 2. You let a platform dictate what you can or cannot create. Serious artists from the old days, like the ones from the Renaissance period that did controversial content that the religious fanatics hated, would have gladly challenged Patreon because those artists from back then were all about pushing these various boundaries. So I developed a great deal of respect for their willingness to do these kinds of things.
It's because of the state of Futanari art that Futa is such a boring genre to me, and the only time it's even exciting is when Radroach or DesireSFM make something, but because they allow Patreon to still control how far they are willing to go with it... Well, all we can get are consensual themes and nothing too dark or out of this world. If you want extreme ideas, your only bet is hetero artists because they are the ONLY ones willing to do that. Just type in "rape" to any explicit comic out there, and all of it is 99 percent male-on-female dominated.
They own that genre! So female sexual aggression is very rare, just like a lot of films that have these darker themes in them. It's rare to come across something involving a woman taking sexual power away from someone else. It's the type of thing I just absolutely LOVE, and I don't mean that in some girl boss sort of way.... I just get really turned on by female superiority in sexual content and even more so when the act involves non-con. A woman forcing, demanding, or stripping power away from another woman is one of the best concepts... But it's not explored by enough artists.
The futanari genre, unlike Hollywood movies or movies in the film industry outside of the West... Futanari artists refuse to protest against these platforms that infringe on them. If film directors in Hollywood were told they weren't allowed to create violent movies, sex scenes, or violent scenes at all, they wouldn't stand for it and let the censors bully them into submission. They would fight for their creative rights, and I just don't see futanari artists as the type of people who have that in them... And if it's a personal reason as to why a lot of futanari artists don't take risks... then it's really a shame I didn't learn how to animate moving pictures myself.... Because if I were even half as good as some of these animators are... I'd just crowdfund all of my work; fuck Patreon. As long as I have creative rights to create what I like or what I feel others would like and support, I would be thrilled and passionate about creating it.
So... when you think of all the futanari comics that the Japanese are putting out and then compare it with the male-on-female content they create...it's like there are far more Japanese artists putting effort into the male-on-female content than the ones who are creating the futanari material. It's almost 2026, so I don't think futanari as a genre is ever going to become a risk-averse genre. The worst that could possibly happen is DesireSFM or Radroach retires, and when that happens... Futanari might as well go back to being irrelevant like it was in the early 2000s when heterosexual content was still dominating the market like it currently still does today.
And even though you have artists like Rigid, Amazonium, Nyl, and a couple of others who can animate well enough... their material is nowhere near as captivating for me as Radroach and DesireSFM, who are capable of taking on the male-on-female market all on their own, and so far there isn't a single hetero content creator capable of animating that can out-animate the rough sex masters of female aggression. And that's just the animators.... As for the artists who create still imagery, comics, and the like... Well, that market has been quite disappointing and rather irrelevant to me for MANY years... Whenever I go hunting for some extreme futanari comic to read or indulge in, the lack of variety is noticeable.
I'm still waiting for a futanari artist to create a stimulating futanari comic about Sadako from The Ring... So far all the explicit comic art involving Sadako is just her being fucked or sexually abused by males.... Futanari artists don't have the desire or the commitment it requires to turn Sadako into a sex-crazed maniac that takes what she wants by force. So I'd have to do it myselfif I wanted such a story to exist. But if I do it myself, it wouldn't be the same as discovering someone else doing it... I'd rather see what other artists could come up with.
