Artistic Advice For New Explicit Content Creators (Old Tumblr Posting 2018)

Earlier today I spoke to a very disgruntled artist that felt as if he was getting nowhere with his work. As a result of that, he spent most of the day pondering in thought, perhaps feeling a little down and depressed about his relevancy in this whole erotica art game we’re all involved in these days.

He’s not the only artist I’ve met that had this problem of feeling overlooked, overshadowed, or just not being supported enough. And I can relate with the feeling. So if your new, starting out fresh and just want to get some advice on how to get some recognition I can do what I can to help. Most artist just post all over the place which works to some extent. I keep myself limited to a few sites only. I'm not on Twitter...I hate Twitter.

One other artist explained to me that people will agree to contribute, then eventually they just decide to change their minds. If you are an underdog and you want some advice on how you might be able to get some followers to support your stuff....

In all honesty you have to change your art style to some extent if it’s not working, that or find a particular audience and target them., try something that no one else is doing with your ideas, mix and match genres...Popular characters is also where the money is at..

I don’t understand the appeal with them...You have to produce what’s in demand most of the time but don’t sell out for profits. If there is something you feel your not suitable for creating, or you just don’t understand the genre there is no shame in sticking with what you know.

It’s difficult to become relevant, even harder to gain notoriety due to the vast amount of competition. You have to find a genre that you understand and run with it. If one thing isn’t working out, change up your style or fuse different ideas. Never rely on one method unless your actually benefiting from it.

You don’t have to use popular characters all the time either but get SOME in your arsenal. It’s necessary. Your going to get fans that want to see their favorite characters in action.

Here are a few things that you can do to gain some notoriety  even if you don’t exactly become as big as the top artists.

THE FIVE WUDE OF ART

1. Try new ideas, things that no one else is really focusing on or doing when you decide to create something.

2. Take risk, even if it’s with a genre you don’t like. Don’t be afraid to take risk. Only certain people can afford to restrict and limit themselves.

3. Use mainstream characters sometimes, but you don’t have to rely on them all the time.

4. Switch and experiment with different software if the quality of your work doesn’t seem appealing enough with what your currently using, find an art style that will draw in the crowds with a different program. Blender, Unreal, Poser, DAZ, Studio Max, there is a lot of programs you can render/animate with if your doing 3D works.

5.Stay original, do your own thing, develop your own ideas, but don’t neglect fan service either. There isn't anything wrong with doing something every now and then for a fan. In other words, show interest in ideas that are not always of your own.

         6. Above all else, reach out to others if you get stuck on something. But be forewarned some artist are dickheads, some are very helpful.

I try to experiment with different ideas. I love the femdom genre so that’s where my focus is. But I only like it when it involves women dominating each other.
