First of all this is not a review, secondly it's more of a praise of what my dearest, oldest apprentice has accomplished since I've met him back in the tumblr days. DesireSFM is an artist I have written about several times in the past, he is an artist I have always admired and respected for how hard he works compared to the laziness of other animators that simply refuse to for whatever reason take out the time to actually create something longer than a few seconds.
DesireSFM is the primary example of what it means to really be passionate about what he's doing. I have seen people give praise to animators for the look of their work but here is the thing... 98% of the artist today using blender to create their animations only have but one thing good going for themselves, GRAPHICS. After you've seen 100+ animated videos the other thing they have equally in common is the painfully short length.
DesireSFM and I spoke some months ago about how this is his final and last animation that he will be doing in SFM before making the switch over to Blender like everyone else. While I never had any issues what so ever with him using SFM and find myself satisfied with the length of his work more than I am with how much more prettier it's going to look when he figures out Blender. It has taken him a long time to complete this, but then I finally found out WHY it took as long as it did.
His final animation with SFM went from being 16 minutes to 35 minutes! He's reached a milestone that's been common among several Japanese animators in the past that would do this sort of thing ALL THE TIME. I am proud of DesireSFM for being such a devoted and hard worker because it's rare with animators. They don't have the patience and lack the commitment it requires to work on longer assignments. I'm eager to watch the full animation because 35 minutes is a lot to take in. I'm going to assume there is a huge plot behind this one but I do hope the sexual parts are much bigger. I haven't been able to speak with him much lately due to how busy he is.
I've been waiting a long time to see someone do something like that with the futanari theme, and because DesireSFM is a damn good animator and worker you can expect that the entire 35 minute animation is going to be the best one he's done so far. There's no telling what surprises this one is going to have in it, and I've never been this excited for a pornographic piece of work. I was excited about his latest work before all of this but 35 minutes gives me chills down the spine.
I am proud to have him as an artistic ally although I never taught him anything as far as animation goes, he's a master in his own right. Every once in awhile he use to ask me for tips on certain things, and some advice, opinions, etc when I knew what to give I gave it. I merely trained him to embrace the dark side of futanari and helped him to accept it as a shared vision that we've both done well to improve the futa genre.We use to joke around about that a lot. He use to ask me for advice about things, especially with lighting advice and some written context for plot devices due to my experiences with producing graphic novels. Unfortunately I've become less motivated with my own material lately. Still I provide whatever knowledge that I have if it will help him further what he already knows.
In the beginning I remember how his animations were so stiff, and how they didn't have the same fluid movements that they currently have now. I spent a lot of time writing about him, encouraging and helping him on a mental level. Now that he's made it so far there's no telling what he's going to do with Blender next year. Still this may be the only 35 minute video we will ever get or see from him, maybe he'll go back to simple 16 minute animations or doing 6 minute animations. It really depends on how much time he have.
I don't know what he plans for the future. All I can say is that I'm inspired by his milestone and I pray that he succeeds in the future with more. I haven't written a review for anyone in a long while. With 35 minutes? That's a very long video to cover...Almost like an actual movie. Add close to an hour on it, it would be a full length film. But 35 minutes coming from an animator like this is worthy of praise, admiration, and nothing but respect.
Going to be fun yet a lot of work writing a review for it when I see the whole damn thing. I didn't bother to look at the 16 min one he released, I'm waiting for the whole 35 minutes of it. I know I won't survive that long though! I might end up hurting myself around the first few 5 minutes of it the video -laughs-
I have to say if you have to go out? That's how you go out, I wish I could have ended 2022 with a big release. Unfortunately it's going to take me awhile to complete anything big, and pray people are interested enough to support me. Otherwise I'll probably stop production in 2023 and go back to just doing single image only content instead of working so hard on graphic novels or comics. It's that or either I retire...
